Dog Days of Charlotte focuses primarily on finding and coordinating foster homes for dogs rescued from high kill shelters, so most of the dogs we help save belong to specific no-kill rescue groups in/or around the Greater Charlotte, NC area. Others we help eventually transport up north to no-kill rescue groups to be adopted out there. All rescue groups are different and have their own adoption requirements and procedures, most requiring an extensive adoption application, vet check, home visit and adoption fee. Unless the dog is actually listed with our organization, we have no say in whether a rescue group can or will adopt to you. Dog Days of Charlotte simply works on behalf of these rescue groups as a support network to find and coordinate foster homes, whereas the rescue group that has sponsored the dog ultimately has the right to approve decline any adoption (or foster home).
***If interested in adopting a dog you have heard about or have seen featured on our Facebook Page (Foster for Dog Days of Charlotte), simply fill out the “Adoption Inquiry” form. Include the dog’s name and we can try and help direct you to the rescue group the dog belongs to and see if the dog is still available for adoption.
